Sokhumi HPP which is a seasonally regulated plant is located in Abkhazeti, in 23 km from Sokhumi, on the left bank of the river Gumista. Its installed capacity is 18,9 MW. Average annual capacity of the plant is 100 million kW/h.

The plant was put into operation in 1948-1951.
